NI Call for Conor Mac

Congratulations to Conor McMenamin on being selected for the Northern Ireland senior squad for a four-day training camp this week. This is amazingly the first time Conor - who scored an exceptional 22 goals in 42 appearances on the left wing this season - has been called up at any level for his country. The training camp is part of Northern Ireland Manager Ian Baraclough's preparations for his side's four Nations League games in June.

Obituary: David "Monty" Montgomery

It is with great sadness today that Bangor Glenmen and the wider Glentoran family today learned of the passing of David Montgomery. Known to his friends and around the Oval as Monty, David was a lifelong Glenman who travelled with the club all round Europe and of course home and away week in week out. He will be sadly missed by all fellow Bangor Glenmen and everyone else who knew him.

Golden Boot for Jay

Congratulations to our striker Jay Donnelly on winning the Golden Boot award after scoring 30 goals for the Glens this season. Jay is the first player at the club to hit the 30 goal mark since Gary Hamilton in 2006-2007.

Jay finished with  with six goals more than his former Cliftonville team mate Joe Gormley and seven more than his Glens team mate Conor McMenamin.

Tomorrow evening we welcome Glenavon to the Bet McLean Oval for the semi-final of the UEFA Europa Conference League playoffs.

In the one previous meeting between Glentoran and Glenavon in the European Play-Offs, the two sides went into the game in reverse order to tonight’s fixture; the seventh place Glens travelling to Mourneview Park to face Gary Hamilton’s 3rd placed Lurgan Blues.
