Signing News: Mike Argyrides Signs

Glentoran’s fourth summer signing is Mike Argyrides, who signed today in time for the start of pre-season training tomorrow.

Canadian goalkeeper Mike spent last season with Larne in the Danske Bank Premiership, having previously played for Vaughan Azzurri in his home country and a brief spell in East Belfast with Dundela.

Glentoran are delighted to announce that season tickets for the 2022/23 NIFL Irish premier league campaign will be on sale from Saturday 11th June 2022.

Season Tickets this year will be equipped with new identification technology which will improve efficiency at the turnstiles and enable GFC to use the Real-Time data and analytics tools to provide ad hoc offers to our Season Ticket holders throughout the season.

Obituary: Billy Bingham MBE

Glentoran Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the death of our former player and legendary Northern Ireland International manager Billy Bingham MBE and offer deepest condolences to his family circle and friends. Billy, who had suffered from dementia for well over a decade, died last night aged 90 in Southport.

Signing News: Welcome Harry Murphy

We are delighted to welcome Harry Murphy as our latest close season signing.

Harry joins from Portadown. He made his debut for the Ports at centre back in our 1-1 draw at Shamrock Park in February and impressed as we were held scoreless for 85 minutes.

Mick McDermott: “Harry is relatively young at only 18 years old, but we saw first-hand his potential when we played against Portadown late last season.

We believe our fulltime environment, combined with his abilities, hunger and work-ethic is a perfect match at this stage of his career.

Two early first half goals from centre back Fionnuala Morgan brought Glentoran's reign as League Cup holders to an abrupt end at Ashfield tonight in this quarter final tie.

Morgan opened the scoring in the fifth minute from a free-kick before heading home a corner to double the lead eight minutes later.

A much changed Glens team, with none of their current internationals available, continued its defence of the Toal's Women;s League Cup this afternoon with an emphatic win obver Ballymena United at Ashfield.

Signing News: Aidan Wilson Signs

We have continued our close season recruitment with our second Scottish signing of the week and give a warm welcome to Aidan Wilson.

Aidan (23) joins the club after declining a new contract offer from Crusaders, with whom he won an Irish Cup winner’s medal last month. He had two years at Seaview, following fourteen years at Rangers from the ages of 7 to 21. While at Ibrox, Aidan made a number of appearances in the Scottish Premiership League.
