Just over two weeks ago members of the Raven Glentoran Supporters Club visited their Honorary Member, Paul McCann, at his residential care home in Newtownards in order to present him with a signed Glentoran shirt. Paul was in good spirits and still loyally follows the Glens through various media outlets. It was fair to say that Paul greatly appreciated his gift which will have pride of place in his room.
Pictured in the photograph with Paul are Raven GSC Chairman Arthur Watson, Secretary Robert Gibson and member Stephen Beattie, Member Dale Mooney was also in attendance.

A 1-all draw at the Ballymena Showgrounds this afternoon saw the Glens lose ground in the race for the Danske Bank Premiership title with both rivals winning their games.

Glentoran Football Club has over the years developed a longstanding relationship with Burnley Football Club with players enjoying careers at both clubs, most recently Glen Little, someone who wrote his name into the history books of this club by scoring the winning goal in the 1996 Irish Cup Final. The relationship between the clubs has strengthened in recent years through the work of Burnley FC in the Community and our own Glentoran in the Community as they have shared ideas on reaching out into the local community.

Glentoran Football Club notes the decision of the Irish Football Association to reinstate Newry City to the semi-final of the Samuel Gelston’s Whiskey Irish Cup. While the club respects the Challenge Cup Committee, Glentoran will now seek legal advice on this decision and will proceed accordingly in the appeals process.
