Glentoran Women 7-0 Derry City

The Glens got back to winning ways tonight as a hat trick from Northern Ireland star Lauren Wade, a double from the recently returned Sarah Connolly, one from Cora Morgan and a first  goal from  recent signing Sasha Clare delivered a comfortable win at Ashfield tonight.

The visitors held out for the opening 36 minutes before Morgan opened the scoring, the first of seven goals within 40 minutes.

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Scottish forward Ally Roy.

Ally, who turned twenty-five last week, spent last season as a regular with Queen Of The South in the Scottish Championship. He is a graduate of the academy of Heart of Midlothian and has had spells at Derry City, Partick Thistle and Airdrie. He also is a former Northern Ireland U21 international, having qualified through grandparents from County Tyrone.

Nations Cup call for Conor Mac

Congratulations to Conor McMenamin on his call up to Ian Baraclough's senior Northern Ireland squad for next month’s UEFA Nations League matches against Greece, Cyprus (home and away) and Kosovo.

This is a deserved selection for Conor who maintained his exceptional standards for Glentoran right up to the very last match of the season.

Cliftonville Ladies 3-0 Glentoran Women

A second half blitz after an even first half condemned brought the champions' long unbeaten run to an end at the hands of league leaders Cliftonville at Solitude this evening.

In a first half of few chances, Glentoran’s Casey Howe glanced a header wide from Jessica Foy’s teasing cross and Lauren Wade forced a save from Reds goalkeeper Rachael Norney.

At the other end, Kirsty McGuinness was unable to beat Emma Higgins in the Glentoran goal after being played through one on one in the Reds’ best chance of the cagey opening period.

Ulster Award for Glens' Joely

The club is delighted to announce that midfielder Joely Andrews has been voted Ulster Women’s Footballer of the Year for the 2021 season. The award was organised by the Castlereagh Glentoran Supporters Club alongside the long-standing men’s award.

Joely had a wonderful season and it’s a testament to ger that she was selected for the award from the high competition in a squad that won its second consecutive clean sweep and competed well in Europe, scoring the opening goal in our 2-0 win over Olimpia Cluj.

NI Call for Aaron

Congratulations to our young first team squad member Aaron Wightman on being selected for the Northern Ireland U19 squad for their two friendlies against Malta’s U19s next month as part of ongoing preparations for Euro qualifiers this autumn.

Gerard Lyttle’s team will face Malta on Wednesday 8 June and again on Friday 10 June. Both games are due to be staged at the Malta Football Association training complex in Ta’ Qali, with kick-off at 20.30 local time (19.30 UK time).

Tribute match for legend Elliott

The Glentoran Family will soon have the opportunity to pay a warm tribute to Elliott Morris, legendary keeper and the longest serving first teamer in the club’s 140-year history.

An organising committee of supporters has organised a tribute match for Elliott in June, between a team representing Elliott’s first decade at the club (2002-2012) and one representing his second decade (2012-2022), each managed by a Glentoran Manager from the respective era.

Big Saturday as Glens & Burnley support Alzheimer's UK

This Saturday (21st May) the historic relationship between Glentoran and Burnley Football Club takes on a new face as we link up with Burnley FC in the Community to support Alzheimer’s UK,

All of the Glentoran Family are welcome at the Bet McLean Oval to join in a 5K Walk / Run / Cycle challenge in honour of Glentoran, Burnley and Northern Ireland legend Jimmy McIlroy, ending with a celebration at The Oval.
