NIFL Premiership halted until 23 January.

The Northern Ireland Football League issued the following statement this evening:

"The NI Football League, with support from the Irish FA, has agreed to halt the Dankse Bank Premiership for three matchdays from 6pm on Saturday evening (9 January) until Saturday 23 January.

Having considered views of membership and all key stakeholders the decision has been taken in light of the continued Covid-19 pandemic.

Due to the new COVID-19 restrictions imposed on all non essential businesses in Northern Ireland, GLENTORAN SUPERSTORE will be closed to the public until further notice.

Part 3 July - September (Up for the Cup)

July saw a relaxation on the restrictions regarding Covid-19 meaning a limited return to normal life. This in turn meant that Glentoran were able to return to action.

Part 2 April– June (Lockdown)

With football brought to a standstill the club's focus turned to what was going on off the pitch. Despite the lack of a fixtures schedule, the month of April was just as busy as the rest of the season.

Part One: January -March

The year 2020 was definitely a memorable one, a year which saw the breakout of the Coronavirus pandemic bringing both football and everyday life to a standstill.

Glentoran 2-1 Portadown

Two goals in the opening 12 minutes were enough to give the Glens the points at the Oval this evening in the Danske Bank Premiership although a late Portadown strike did make for a nervous finish.

Recent signing, Rhys Marshall was in the starting line up as manager, Mick McDermott tinkered with the 4-3-3 formation that we've used for most of the season. 

Cricky voted December's top man

Glentoran FC is very pleased to announce that the winner of the supporters’ vote as December Glentoran Player of the Month is Cricky Gallagher.

In a month of mixed fortunes for the Glens, midfielder Cricky played in all five of our matches and has started fifteen of our sixteen matches so far this season. Having joined the club in September 2018 as Ronnie McFall’s last Glentoran signing, Cricky has established himself as a key squad member with 76 appearances under his belt,

It was a very different Glentoran Christmas Appeal this year, but the good work and generosity of the Glentoran Family was never more necessary as the club staged the appeal for the seventh year.

New contract for Hrvoje

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to announce that Hrvoje Plum has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2021-2022 season.

Head Coach Mick McDermott said today: “Hrvoje is a major asset to Glentoran and its great to have him commit to the club.

He earned the respect of our supporters last season and after recovering from his injury he is working hard to get back to that level again.

Hrvoje is a top professional and we’re very happy to have him back in the matchday squad.”
