Match Preview: Cliftonville v Glentoran

Tue, 03/11/2020 - 12:13

Tuesday 3rd November 2020, Kick Off 7.45pm

Glentoran travel to Solitude to face County Antrim Shield holders Cliftonville tonight, hoping to avenge last season's Semi Final defeat at the same venue.

Last Season's Final triumph over Ballymena - both goals arriving in the 90th minute after United had led for much of the game - was the first time Cliftonville had won the trophy since beating then Championship side Bangor 1-0 at Solitude in 2014/15.

Coleraine 2-1 Glentoran

Sun, 01/11/2020 - 00:25

Glentoran’s difficult start to the league season continued today with a 2-1 defeat at Coleraine Showground, to extend our 7-year run without a win at the venue. However, the disappointing result was overshadowed by a terrible injury to recent signing Bobby Burns who was stretchered off and taken to hospital after a horror tackle from Coleraine’s James McLaughlin after an hour.

Match Preview: Coleraine v Glentoran

Fri, 30/10/2020 - 00:45

Saturday 31st October 2020, Kick Off 3.00pm

On Saturday we look to pick up our first Danske Bank Premiership win of the season when we make a Hallowe’en visit to the Coleraine Showgrounds.

No one is going to suggest this will be anything other than a tough match as Glentoran have failed to win in any of the last 12 league fixtures between the sides - there have been 5 draws and 7 Coleraine wins.

Ticket Information - Cliftonville away

Wed, 28/10/2020 - 21:41

It has been agreed with the relevant authorities that one hundred away supporters will be admitted to our Toals County Antrim Shield semi-final at Solitude on Tuesday 3rd November (Kick Off 7:45pm).

In order to give the broadest possible base of Glentoran supporters the opportunity it has been decided that these 100 tickets (including 20 concession) will go on general sale tomorrow evening from the Glentoran Superstore. It is hoped this will provide an opportunity for supporters unable to attend Premiership matches so far this season.

Robbie is Glens Player of the Year ... Again

Mon, 26/10/2020 - 00:34

Robbie McDaid has been voted Glentoran Player of the Year by the club’s supporters for the second consecutive year.

Castlereagh Glentoran Supporters Club hosted the vote for the 63rd consecutive year. It was held at Saturday’s home game and Cup Final hero Robbie came out on top with an incredible 67% of the vote. He will be presented with his award by Castlereagh GSC officials on the pitch before our next home game, Covid restrictions permitting.

Glentoran 1-1 Glenavon

Sat, 24/10/2020 - 18:45

It was a frustrating afternoon at the Oval as Glentoran failed to overcome 9-man Glenavon.

Perhaps you could point the finger at Glenavon's 'anti football' approach, but ultimately it was up to Glentoran to put the ball in the net and apart from a penalty, we failed to do that.
