Glentoran’s goalkeepers have joined in a positive and exciting new link up with a goalkeeper gloves company owned by Bournemouth and former Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic.

With immediate effect all goalkeeper gloves for the Glentoran first team set up will be sponsored and provided free of charge by AB1GK, while the company will also provide gloves to all goalkeepers within Glentoran, Glentoran Women and the Glentoran Boys and Girls Academy at a preferential rate.

Glentoran 3-2 Larne

Fri, 23/04/2021 - 23:44

It had to be 3-2 didn't it? It was "Morgan Day" after all.

Perhaps we didn't have the injury time drama this time but we did have the late winner and as the ball struck Fuad Sule and went into the Sydenham End net...   well it was near enough from the same spot Chris knocked his in 16 years ago today.

Obituary: John Kennedy

Sun, 18/04/2021 - 18:41

Everyone at Glentoran is saddened to hear of the passing of our player from the sixties, John Kennedy.

John, a right back, signed from Linfield and played 43 first team games for Glentoran, including 6 in the title winning season of 1963-64 when he was understudy to the legendary Harry Creighton. John left for Ards at the end of that season.

Deepest condolences to John’s wife Isobel, his sons Stephen and Kevin and daughter Jennifer. John’s nephew Paul for providing this information.

Coleraine 1-1 Glentoran

Sat, 17/04/2021 - 00:41

Another frustrating night for Glentoran as a first half Robbie McDaid goal at the Showgrounds wasn't enough as a second half Eoin Bradley equaliser gave Coleraine a share of the spoils this evening to keep us in third place in the Danske Bank Premiership,

Match Preview: Coleraine v Glentoran

Thu, 15/04/2021 - 23:48

Friday 16th April 2021 Kick Off 7.30pm

Tomorrow evening we follow Tuesday night’s memorable 2-2 draw, when we travel to the North Coast to play Coleraine for the second time in 72 hours in another six pointer with second place up for grabs in the Danske Bank Premiership.

We need to end a run at the Showgrounds that does not make for pretty reading. Our last win of any sort there was in May 2016 when Alan Kernaghan’s team had a 2-1 win in a Europa League play off semi final through goals from Calum Birney and Curtis Allen, now of course a Coleraine player,

BELFAST LIVE TO PREMIERE ‘EAST BELFAST – OUR STORY 2020’

Eastside Awards in association with George Best Belfast City Airport has built a reputation for recognising all that is good about East Belfast and although the awards ceremony could not take place in its usual format, this year, more than any other, the organisers wanted to hear uplifting stories of how the community pulled together and how businesses innovated, pivoted and diversified to survive.
