Glentoran v Glenavon- Preview

Sat, 20/10/2012 - 11:27

Today Glentoran face Glenavon in search of victory having lost the previous two league fixtures. One of the key factors for our recent slump in form has undoubtedly been due to the growing number of injuries at the club. This week, there is mixed news with more players joining the list of casualties however one notable return will definitely add a boost of morale to the squad.

Bar information for Saturday

Wed, 17/10/2012 - 22:34

We welcome Glenavon players, officials and supporters to the Oval this Saturday and hopefully we can get back to winning ways.

The Premier Lounge opens at 12:30 and will have live coverage of the Barclays Premiership game featuring Tottenham v Chelsea at lunchtime (kick off at 12:45pm). The Battle of the Glens will then be shown live on all screens in the bar at 3pm and this will be followed by another Live Premiership game when Norwich v Arsenal finish the day for us (kick off 5.15pm). Hope to see you all there.

Saturday's Celebration

Sun, 14/10/2012 - 19:00

Prior to kick-off on Saturday the players lined up and joined with the crowd in a minute's applause to remember all the supporters, players and officials who are no longer with us but who all played their part over the years in making Glentoran Football Club the institution it is.

Earlier some of the clubs legendary players and managers were introduced to the crowd as they walked onto the Oval pitch once more.

4546 days later...

Sat, 13/10/2012 - 13:02

At around 7 minutes past 8 on Tuesday 9th October 2012, Stuart Elliott scored his 52nd goal for Glentoran FC to put us in front at Institute in the Irn Bru League Cup. Stuart's 51st was way back on 29th April 2000. That Saturday afternoon it was the Glens first in a 3-nil league win against Cliftonville at the Oval, the other scorers being Rory Hamill and Sean Armstrong.

That's 4,546 days later, or 12 years, 5 months and 10 days. Hopefully the next one will come around a bit quicker!

Glentoran v Portadown- Preview

Fri, 12/10/2012 - 17:50

With the club celebrating it's 130th birthday before kick off with a special presentation of some of our most iconic legends, this will hopefully inspire Glentoran's current crop into a memorable performance against Portadown in the Danske Bank Premiership at 3pm tomorrow afternoon. After suffering our first league defeat of the campaign last weekend at Seaview, it is vitally important we bounce back with a positive result in this game.
