Over the last decade, the Glentoran Community Trust has built up a strong and valuable relationship with Ruby’s Bar, Dundonald.
As a community totally reliant on the dedication, courage and conviction of all our NHS staff and key workers in these uncertain times, we were delighted to hear that the car park facilities at Ruby’s were now being used as an overspill for Ulster Hospital staff.
Glentoran Football Club was proud yesterday to donate 150 facemasks to Palmerston Care Home in East Belfast. This was from the consignment of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) donated to social worker and care workers across Belfast last week by our majority shareholder Ali Pour.
One of the key players in Glentoran’s famous Vienna Cup victory in 1914 was George Ferrett. He was part of Glentoran's famed half-back line Emerson Ferrett and Scraggs.
George's son Tom now resides in Palmerston Nursing Home in East Belfast and today (Thursday 30 April) is his 100th birthday.
This is a new series where notable Glentoran players of the past name the team they would pick from the players they played alongside during their careers in the Irish League. This will hopefully generate a few talking points and we will be asking players from most eras of the past 50 years.

We are delighted to announce that the club has been awarded both Premiership and UEFA Licences for the 2020/21 season. Sincere thanks to all those volunteers who worked so tirelessly to complete the successful applications.
The Board of GFC1882, representing the wide base of minority shareholders of the club, is delighted to welcome Colin Davidson as a Director.
Colin is a lifelong Glenman, a very familiar face at the Oval and a long serving member of Raven GSC. He played a very valuable role at the club in recent years, having very successfully launched and managed the Supporters Players Fund since summer 2017.
