Glentoran Academy recently held a four day summer camp for all players from age 11-17. This was organised and coached by Tiernan and Seamus Lynch to provide our young players with a full time experience where they came into a professional environment for four days of coaching and football education.
During the camp Tiernan identified young under 12 player Aaron Wightman as the most consistent performer of the week and had this to say about the young man “Aaron was an absolute gem, just everything about him from his manners to his work ethic, his hunger and he looked a real player as well – great technique”
As a reward Tiernan invited Aaron along to Saturday’s home game against Warrenpoint Town and introduced him to the players in the changing room before the game.
Glentoran Academy would like to thank Tiernan for this great gesture and also thank him and Seamus for the superb week of coaching they put on for our players in what is a busy period for them with the new season just getting up and running – the feedback from the players has been extremely positive and we see this as another step forward for our Academy.
