Ross Redman

Glentoran is delighted to announce this summer’s fourth addition to the first team squad with the signing of Ross Redman.  Ross (26) signed for the club today after 12 years with his hometown club, Portadown.

Manager Alan Kernaghan said: “I am delighted to secure Ross. He is a very talented left back who will bring additional quality, experience and leadership to our first team squad. I know he will prove very popular with our support. Ross’s signing at left back serves a double purpose as it will also allow us to use Marcus Kane in a more advanced midfield position which is where I feel he can make his strongest contribution in the seasons ahead”.

Ross said: “While it’s sad to leave my hometown club after so long, I’m very keen to have a new challenge in the game so I’m delighted to sign for Glentoran. Its far and away one of the biggest clubs in Ireland with a great supporter base and I know I can play my part in getting the club where we all want it to be. I had a couple of great chats with Alan and I’m very excited by his plans for the team and my role in it. The aim is obviously to get the Glens back to seriously challenging for the league title and the other trophies and I’m confident we can do that”.

Additionally, Conor McMenamin has left the club and has been released to sign for Warrenpoint Town. We wish Conor the best for his future in the game.
