Congratulations to Jonny Russell who has been called up for the Northern Ireland Under 20 squad for the UEFA U21 Euro 2025 qualifier against Serbia next Tuesday (26 March) in Leskovac. This is a well-deserved honour for Jonny after a great first season as a first team squad member with 29 first team appearances so far in the season.
Charlie Lindsay – a regular member of the U21 squad in recent years – is already in the squad which faced Czechia in a friendly in Pardubice last night.
Additionally , earlier this month Glentoran had no fewer than five players in the Northern Ireland U18 squad that defeated England, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland to stay top of the 2024 Centenary Shield table. The Academy lads named in the squad are Callan Farley, James Douglas, Casey Smith, Owen O’Neill and Jude Johnson. James Douglas was on target in the 3-0 win over England and opened the scoring and was named Man of the Match in the 2-0 away win over the Scots.
