Glentoran is delighted to announce the signing of Eric Foley on a 2 year contract.

Eric (26) is a Dublin born midfielder who started his career as a youth player at Celtic, playing in the Scottish Youth Cup Final against Rangers in 2007/08. He played until last month with Galway United in the Premier Division of the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland.

Eric spent three years at Celtic before returning to Ireland, where his most successful stint was on Boyneside with Drogheda United. With Drogheda he won the EA Sports Cup and finished runner up to Sligo Rovers in the 2012 Premier Division. He was also an FAI Cup winner with Sporting Fingal. He has been capped at under-16 and under-17 level for the Republic of Ireland.

Manager Alan Kernaghan said: “Eric is the sort of player we have been looking for since I arrived at Glentoran. He is a player who can dictate the pace and flow of a game with the great range and quality of his passing. He is also strong on set pieces and has an eye for goal from midfield. I am delighted he has chosen to join us.”

Club kitman Aaron Foster has confirmed that Foley will don the number 14 shirt this coming season.
