Congratulations to the Glentoran Under 15 team who made it a very Happy New Year at the Blanchflower Stadium today by beating Bangor U15s in the final of the Under 15 Premier Divisional Cup.
Early goals by Thomas McCrissican and Theo Singh had the Glens 2-0 up on 11 minutes, a lead they held up to the break. A goal by Bangor’s Zak Magowan just before the hour mark wasn’t enough to unsettle the Glens boys who held on to win 2-1.
Well done to the players and their coaches. Hopefully not the last piece of silverware to come Glentoran’s way this season.

Our win over Linfield earlier this month was firmly consigned to the memory after this toothless Boxing Day performance at the National Stadium, a performance and result that leaves of a mammoth 17 points behind the league leaders, who also have a game in hand.
The only change from Saturday was Luke McCullough returning to central defence in place of skipper Marcus Kane, who returned to the bench having sustained an injury after scoring the equaliser at Stangmore Park.
Tuesday 26th December
Kick Off 3.00pm
On Boxing Day we cross the city to face Linfield in Ireland’s biggest domestic fixture of the season. Incredibly this is the third Big Two meeting in the Sports Direct Premiership so far this season and our fourth meeting overall.
