Glens host Swifts in Danske Bank Premiership

Fri, 18/01/2013 - 23:55

Following back to back Danske Bank Premiership defeats, Glentoran desperately need to bounce back with three points over Dungannon Swifts at The Oval tomorrow. It has been no secret of recent that there has been an injury crisis at The Oval with no central midfield players fit on Tuesday night. An inexperienced bench was fielded mostly of youth players and as Eddie Patterson has said in recent interviews, has led to inconsistency on the pitch.

Glens Face Ballymena Utd

Tue, 15/01/2013 - 11:07

Ballymena Utd are the visitors to The Oval tonight for a rearranged Danske Bank Premiership fixture. The game originally scheduled for 22nd December was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. A professional performance on Saturday against minnows Killymoon Rangers saw Glentoran into the last 16 of the Irish Cup. However our league form has suffered from inconsistency with defeats to Linfield and Cliftonville, a draw with Coleraine and just one win against Donegal Celtic in our last few games. This slip has seen Glentoran lose ground on the top 3 in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Glens win 4-1 at Killymoon Rangers

Sat, 12/01/2013 - 18:37

Glentoran travelled to Killymoon Rangers missing five of their first team regulars; Elliott Morris (ill), Colin Nixon, Jay Magee, Richard Clarke and David Howland (all injured). With a much changed team and playing away from home on a difficult artificial surface this had all the ingredients for a cup upset.
