Following Clifford’s fascinating interview last week (its here) we wanted to go to the next part of the story, of course that had to be the superstore. Ruth runs the superstore for us so we asked her a few questions on this week’s behind the seams to find out what happens after the design is picked.
So Ruth, where does it start when we are getting a new kit?
It feels like only yesterday that we watched Elliot Morris and Colin Nixon live the Irish Cup proudly infront of the North Stand on 4th May yet here we are back playing competitive football in early July. The dust has barely settled on last season yet Eddie Patterson and his side have already returned to training, brought in a number of new faces and seen a number of players leave the club. The manager deserves a lot of credit for signing the new players early in the transfer window, giving us the best possible chance to field a full team in Europe.
Fresh from our 14th consecutive Programme of the Year Award from the NIFPCC, the Glentoran Gazette is back to kick off another campaign with the return leg of our Europa League 1sr Round qualifier with Icelandic side KR.
As usual, the Gazette has a fresh and unrivaled new design and will be packed with brand new features and articles throughout the coming season which will maintain the high quality standard that has been set in previous seasons.
Glentoran FC have completed the signings of two more players.
Right sided defender, Ryan O'Neill and midfielder, Niall Henderson have both agreed two year deals.
Glentoran take on another European challenge when they face KR Reykjavik on Thursday night at the Oval and are calling for a cup final crowd to help secure a second round tie against Standard Liege. The east Belfast side returned from Iceland with a worthy nil all result which provides a real incentive to go for a victory and continue their European involvement.
Glentoran FC wish to record their support for the DRUGS NOT WANTED IN EAST BELFAST initiative which was highlighted during a vigil at Skainos on Monday night.
Glentoran defender, Jason Hill has been with the club over 10 years during two different spells. He is just 5 appearances short of the 300 mark and has, to date, scored 16 goals for the club.
Jason has been a loyal servant to Glentoran, at times making sacrifices to ensure he remained at the Oval. In recognition of this, the Board of Directors have agreed to award Jason a Testimonial Season for 2013-14 and trust that our supporters will embrace the various events to be organised by his newly formed committee.
With the recent kit launch Glentoran.com wanted to give you a more in depth look at the organising and design that goes on when a new kit is being launched. We present to you a behind the scenes, or as we call it, “Behind the Seams”.
In this part of 'Behind the Seams' we wanted to see where it begins so we asked Clifford Logan, a designer at KUKRI and also a diehard Glen man, if he would answer a few questions for us, thankfully he agreed!
