Legends Vs Fans Match TONIGHT At The Oval

Fri, 22/11/2013 - 12:41

Well, with no home match for the first team this weekend, we have a surprise for all the Glentoran fans on Friday night. Over the last few weeks we have assembled a Fans Select team who will face the Glentoran Legends tomorrow night with a 7.30pm kick off at the Oval.

Our heroes from yesteryear will face Glentoran fans from all over the UK. Billy Caskey, Chris Walker, Chris Morgan, Rab McCreery among others will once again grace the Oval pitch under the floodlights.

Another milestone for the Glentoran Academy

Our highly successful Youth Academy continues to go from strength to strength with the exciting news that our all-conquering Under 13 side have qualified for Europe!

The 2001 born lads will travel to Berlin in July at the request of the Northern Ireland Boys' FA and UEFA to compete in a 54 UEFA Nations Tournament.

Having qualified as Northern Ireland representatives at the tournament on the back of their domestic dominance, the wee Glens will become the first youth team at Glentoran to enter European competition proper.

Match Preview

Thu, 21/11/2013 - 22:31

Glentoran travel to Ferney Park on Saturday to face Ballinamallard United in the latest round of Danske Bank Premiership fixtures. The Glens, unbeaten in our last seven league games, will be looking to extend that run against a side which earned a 0-0 draw at the Oval back in late August. From the home side’s point of view, they will be looking to record their first competitive victory against the Glens, the only top flight side they’ve yet to record a win against.

This week's Gazette

Fri, 15/11/2013 - 17:33

We're back at the Oval tomorrow and that means it's the return of the Glentoran Gazette ... and in the opinion of the editor it's the best one since he took over. If you grew up watching the Glens in the 90s, then two cult figures feature in this edition that will have you digging out your parka and strutting Liam Gallagher-esque down Mersey Street. In our regular 'Playing For Keeps' series, Philip Stevenson talks to Dutch maestro Guido Van de Kamp who, despite spending little more than a month at the Oval, is regarded as one of the best to ever pull on the Number One jersey.
