Glentoran make the short trip across Belfast on Saturday to face Danske Bank Premiership leaders, Crusaders. The Crues have won 11, drawn 6 and lost just 2 of their league games to date. Those defeats, to Ballinamallard Utd (1-0) and Ballymena Utd (2-1), came way back in August but since then the Shore Road side have put together an unbeaten league run of 17 games and also reached the final of the Co. Antrim Shield and semi-final of the League Cup.

Glens back on track

Sat, 07/12/2013 - 20:00

After Monday night's Sky Sports showcased shocker, Eddie Patterson's Glentoran side were eager to bounce back and resume the regular service that we'd seen during the two spectacular months of October and November. Indeed, Warrenpoint Town bore the brunt of a rejuvinated second-half performance from the Glens after a lacklustre opening period, with the Oval side departing their east Belfast home 3-0 winners.

Glentoran faced Warrenpoint Town at Stangmore Park, Dungannon back on 12th October. It was a tight, hard fought contest with the Glens eventually taking all 3 points courtesy of a Marcus Kane goal. That win was the second for Glentoran in an unbeaten run of 8 games (W6 D2) which finally came to an end last Monday night when we went down 2-nil against Portadown at the Oval.
