Glentoran 0 - 1 Linfield

Fri, 21/02/2014 - 21:58

A Matthew Tipton penalty just after half time gave Linfield all three points at a windswept Oval this evening.  The Glens were forced into a number of changes through injury and suspension with Steven Gordon making his first ever start and young midfielder Kim Nelson making his debut.  The home side made a bright start forcing a couple of corners in the opening minutes but as the half progressed Linfield, with the strong wind in their favour, gradually gained a foothold in the game.  In the first half hour there was little to trouble either goalkeeper with a Matthew Tipton shot and a Calum

We've got an interview with new boy Fra McCaffery, who talks about where he's been and how he ended up at the Oval.
In an amazing story, Sam Robinson tells, in the first of two parts, how the planets lined up to reunite him with two old friends with Glentoran connections...and one of them will be playing in the World Cup!

Glentoran v Armagh City

Mon, 17/02/2014 - 08:44

The Glens face Armagh City in the Irish Cup tonight with a quarter-final place up for grabs. The two sides played out a 1-1 draw on 8th February at Holm Park and the prize for the victor tonight is a home tie against either Ballinamallard Utd or Glenavon.

Glentoran will go into the game without Marcus Kane, scorer of our goal at Holm Park, and Willie Garrett; both players having received red cards in the disappointing defeat to Ards on Saturday evening.

Bar Info For Monday!

Sun, 16/02/2014 - 18:58

Armagh City visit the Oval for the replay of our Irish Cup fixture and hopefully we can clinch the win to take us through to the next round.

The Premier Lounge will open at 6.30pm and all members and guests are welcome. The match will be shown live on all screens from 7.45pm.

Hope to see you all then.

Ards 2-1 Glentoran

Sat, 15/02/2014 - 20:27

With both Portadown and Crusaders losing earlier today, Glentoran had a great chance to narrow the gap on the teams immediately above them. They failed to take it. Apart from the final 10 minutes of this game they were out-fought and out-played by the Premiership's bottom club who fully deserved their win.
