Seconds departures

Mon, 02/02/2015 - 09:00

Two Glentoran Seconds players have left the Oval; reserve team captain, Ross Stewart and full back, Lee Chapman.

Stewart has been signed by PSNI whilst Chapman has joined championship pacesetters, Bangor. Skipper Stewart lifted the George Wilson Cup last season and both players were instrumental in winning that trophy.

Arbitration outcome

Sat, 31/01/2015 - 21:46

The club is disappointed at the outcome of arbitration and is currently considering the available options.

It is particularly disappointing that the ruling confirms the original IFA contention that clubs faced by ineligible players are considered to be a “third party” and therefore ineligible to lodge an appeal. We feel this sets a dangerous precedent that could detrimentally impact any club in much more serious cases than simple player eligibility.

Cliftonville v Glentoran

Fri, 30/01/2015 - 21:05

The Glens and the Reds meet in the Danske Bank Premiership for the third time this season with Glentoran yet to taste defeat. A win would bring Eddie Patterson's side level on points with Cliftonville who currently occupy fourth place in the league table.

On the opening day of the season the two sides met at Solitude and the Glens held the champions to a goalless draw (highlights from that game are on BBC Sport NI HERE ).
