After playing 531 games at right back for Glentoran, George Neill had his testomonial before the league campaign of 1995/96 kicked off. As the Glentoran fans hailed one of the club's most faithful servants little did they know his replacement would go on to surpass Neill's achievements and become one of Glentoran's most iconic figures in the club's history. George Neill's number 2 jersey was handed over to a 17 year old showing a lot of promise, Colin Nixon.

We are pleased to announce that we have been granted another 100 tickets for the Irish Cup final this Saturday. This has been made possible by work that has been completed at the Oval on both the terracing and stands, mostly completed by our own volunteers. Thank you!! This will be our FINAL ALLOCATION!!! We had to turn away more fans yesterday after the small allocation of 50 Tickets sold out in less than 5 minutes. To be guaranteed to get your hands on a maximum of 2 tickets, you must spend a minimum of £10 in the Superstore on cup final merchandise. Show the support for your club.
In today's installment of Cup Final Heroes we introduce Michael Halliday, the most voted for Hero on our social media in the last couple weeks. For younger fans who missed the glory days of 6 Irish Cups in 8 years in the 1980s Michael Halliday is surely the hero of the 21st century so far.

Tonight on the Cup Final Heroes Countdown we are taking a break from the chronological order we have followed and instead are selecting two heroes based on the goals they scored. The winners are obvious- Paul Millar for his winning goal in the 1986 Irish Cup Final and Glen Little for that famous goal in the 1996 Cup Final.
