Glens swoop for Glenavon duo

Glentoran FC is delighted to announce the signings of Caolan Marron and Andrew Mitchell from Glenavon.

Central defender Caolan (21) is the reigning Northern Ireland Young Player of the Year, while centre forward Andrew (25) will be no stranger to Glentoran supporters, having scored against us on a number of occasions for both Glenavon and his previous club, Dungannon Swifts.

Shareholders / Season Ticket Holders / Life Season Tickets  -  1 ticket per person. Note: Season Tickets must be produced.

Gallagher 2022

The club is delighted to announce that Chris Gallagher has signed a contract extension, seeing the Northern Ireland U21 International stay at Glentoran until at least the end of 2021/22 season.

Chris has played a vital part in the squad this season, helping us secure much-needed points.

 

Speaking to Glentoran.com, Mick McDermott said:

“Chris fully deserves this contract extension and we are delighted that he has agreed to stay committed to our long-term project.

Contract extensions for Croatian duo

The club is delighted to announce that Hrvoje Plum and Marijan Antolovic have signed contract extensions, keeping the two Croatian stars at Glentoran until the end of the 2020-21 season.

Both lads joined the club in July and have played a part in our recent rise to the upper levels of the Danske Bank Premiership.

Mick McDermott accepts his Belleek trophy from NIFWA Chairman Stuart McKinley

Mick McDermott has been named Manager of the Month for December by the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association, for the second month in a row.,

On presenting the award, Stuart McKinlay, Chairman of NIFWA, said: “Mick McDermott has transformed Glentoran into genuine title contenders in his short time at the Oval and a stunning record last month - including the eye-catching 3-0 win over champions Linfield on Boxing Day - earned him the award”

Glentoran 2-1 Warrenpoint Town

Glentoran's 2-1 victory over Warrenpoint Town today saw them go top of the Danske Bank Premiership. Yes that will change on Monday evening when Linfield and Cliftonville meet at Solitude but to be in this position at this point of the season is a very welcome change and 14 games unbeaten is a remarkable turnaround for a team that has been in the bottom six over the last couple of seasons.

On Saturday we attempt to extend our unbeaten run with a visit to the Oval from Warrenpoint Town.

Point are currently bottom of the table but only on goal difference from Institute, and just five points behind Dungannon Swifts after a good run of recent form. So, they have plenty to play for over the final third of the season.
