Glentoran Under-16s continued their summer development programme at the NIFL and League of Ireland Cross-Border Academy Development Day in Blanchardstown, Dublin, on Sunday.
The young Glens faced Derry City, Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United during a demanding series of matches, with Senan Wright and Hunter Beattie finding the net across the day.
It was the second Cross-Border Development Day attended by Glentoran’s Under-16s this summer and the third to feature a team from the Club’s Academy, following the Colts’ participation in Belfast last month.
The programme has provided Glentoran’s emerging players with regular opportunities to test themselves against leading academies from across the island, experience different styles of play and continue their development in a competitive environment.
Organised jointly by NIFL and the League of Ireland, the Cross-Border Academy Development Days form another valuable part of the Academy programme as the Club continues to create meaningful development opportunities for its young players.
