A short Service of Remembrance was held at the Oval at 11am this morning to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.
It was led by club Chaplain, Rev. David Thompson and the message he delivered is outlined below....
Glentoran Remembers: Battle of the Somme Centenary
We gather together as the Glentoran family on this morning of the 1st July, the Centenary of the first day of the Battle of the Somme, for this short act of remembrance.
Glentoran FC announces that Kristian Gibson has this evening had his contract terminated by mutual consent. Kristian joined the club from Rangers in July 2015.
Everyone wishes Kristian the very best for his future in the game
Kitman Aaron Foster has provided a small update to the squad numbers after several new signings and recent player departures at the club. The new numbers are as follows:
4 - Aaron Smyth
8 - Ciaran Caldwell
10 - Stephen O'Flynn
15 - Aaron Harmon
23 - Ross Redman
A full list of squad numbers ahead of the new season, including any further changes or additions, will be announced in due course.
The Superstore will be open tomorrow, Saturday 18th June, between 10am and 12.30pm.
After this date we are closed due to staff holidays. We will re-open on Thursday 30th June between 4.15pm and 8pm.
During July and into August we will be open during our normal hours plus any home friendlies as mentioned on the official site.

Saturday: 10am - 12.30pm
Glentoran will play Sirocco Works in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday 26th July. The game will be played at Dixon Park, Grand Parade with a 7pm kick off.
Glentoran is delighted to announce this summer’s fourth addition to the first team squad with the signing of Ross Redman. Ross (26) signed for the club today after 12 years with his hometown club, Portadown.
Glentoran is pleased to announce the signing of Aaron Smyth from Carrick Rangers on a two year contract.
Aaron (28) – who plays at right back – has also previously played in the Danske Bank Premiership for Cliftonville and Lisburn Distillery.
