Glentoran FC reports with sadness the passing of lifelong Glenman Tony Christie.
Tony followed this team for over 60 years, attending every game he could and was a season ticket holder as recently as last season when his health took a serious turn for the worse. He took his sons Jonathan and Steven to games from a very early age and had he pleasure of seeing his grandson Nicholas catch the Glentoran bug and go on to okay for our 09 Academy team on the pitch.
Tony would usually be seen in the stand with Jonny and Nicholas. The game he talked about most often was Morgan Day, as he always loved getting one over on the Blues. Tony enjoyed the away games and travelled to Glasgow, Dublin and Cork to follow his beloved team.
