Glentoran has announced the extension of its partnership with Strandburn Pharmacy, who will become Back-of-Shirt Partner for the Glentoran Inclusion Teams for the 2025/26 season.
This elevated partnership will see Strandburn Pharmacy’s branding positioned prominently on the back of all Inclusion Academy match shirts, complemented by visibility on Glentoran’s official website and signage at The BetMcLean Oval.
Founded in 2016, the Glentoran Inclusion Academy provides footballing opportunities for children and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities by delivering weekly coaching, competitive fixtures and tournament participation across the UK and Ireland. It is central to Glentoran’s commitment to leading by example in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI).
Strandburn Pharmacy has served the East Belfast community for over 70 years and remains one of the only pharmacies locally to continue offering a free prescription delivery service for vulnerable individuals, older people and busy families.
Ross Strathearn, Chief Commercial Officer at Glentoran, said: “Strandburn Pharmacy has been part of the fabric of East Belfast for a long time and we’re really pleased to be extending our partnership for another season. The way they look after people in this community mirrors exactly what our Inclusion Academy is about.
“Having their name on the back of our shirts is a simple but powerful reminder of our shared belief in access, opportunity and what football can do for people in our community. We’re proud to continue working with a partner whose support genuinely helps make a difference to our players and their families.”
Michael Jackson, Academy Manager at Glentoran, added: “Strandburn Pharmacy’s support means a great deal to everyone involved in our Inclusion Academy. It helps us provide a safe, positive environment where players of all abilities can enjoy their football and feel part of something special.
“Partnerships like this allow us to keep developing the programme and give every player the confidence and sense of belonging that sits at the heart of what we do at Glentoran.”
Lee Dearn at Strandburn Pharmacy, said: “We’re pleased to continue our support for Glentoran and the important work of the Inclusion Academy. Being part of a programme that helps people of all ages and abilities feel welcome and involved in football is something we value greatly.
“We’ve been part of the East Belfast community for many years and this partnership is simply another way for us to contribute to something positive. We’re proud to play our part alongside the Club.”
