Glentoran and Coleraine had to make do with a share of the spoils as they drew 1-1 in a dramatic affair at the BetMcLean Oval.
Jamie McGonigle gave the Bannsiders a 44th minute lead before Rowan McDonald was sent off for the visitors in first half stoppage time.
The Glens ramped up the pressure in the second half but had to wait until the 75th minute to draw level as Jordan Stewart headed home.
Minutes later Pat Hoban had the chance to put the home side in front from the penalty spot, but he saw his spot kick saved by Ryan Schofield.
Boss Declan Devine made one change to the said which beat Cliftonville 3-0 on Wednesday night with Aaron McEneff coming in for Jack Malone, who dropped to the bench.
There was a long delay after only a minute when Coleraine striker James Akintunde suffered a serious injury.
Play finally got under way again after 10 minutes and as expected it was a fairly tight affair in the opening half hour with chances at a premium.
As we moved towards the break it was the visitors who broke the deadlock as Jamie McGonigle fired them in front.
There was to be more drama before the whistle as the Bannsiders were reduced to 10 men with Rowan McDonald dismissed in the 11th minute of additional time.
With the man advantage Glentoran upped the pressure after the break with Pat Hoban was inches away from getting on the end of Danny Amos’ cross.
The hosts had a huge shout for handball before the hour mark but nothing was doing from the referee.
The hosts were stepping up the pressure and but for Mark Connolly they would have equalised through Amos’ shot but the big defender deflected it away from goal.
With 15 minutes to go Glentoran did level matters as Stewart got in front of his marker to convert Ross Clarke’s cross.
The Glens were handed the opportunity to go in front minutes later as Charles Dunne was penalised for handball in the box, but Hoban’s penalty was save by Schofield.
The Glens pushed for a winner in the closing stages but in the end had to settle for a point.
