Glentoran Women v Sion Swifts Ladies
Friday 25 August
Ashfield School
Kick Off 7.45pm
On Friday evening Glentoran Women return to league action when they welcome third placed Sion Swifts Ladies to Ashfield.
The Glens are six points ahead of Swifts who – like their hosts – are on a good run of form in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership on a run of five consecutive wins. They have lost just two league games, both to the league’s top two sides.
When Glentoran travelled to Strabane in May, we came back with a 0-3 win through a double from Emily Wilson and a penalty from top scorer Kerry Beattie. Both players remain in red hot scoring form and it’s hoped this will be maintained in County Tyrone.
Glentoran’s league lead was reduced to three points when Cliftonville Ladies won their game in hand on Monday night. So with just six league games left to play for both sides and third placed Sion, there is little margin for error in this or any of our remaining games.
Kick Off at Ashfield is at 7.45pm.
