Glentoran Football Club and Ashfield Boys’ High School will host a sign-up day for prospective male and female students interested in joining the Glentoran Elite Scholarship Programme at the Danny Blanchflower Stadium tomorrow, Thursday 20th August, to coincide with GCSE Results Day.

Students attending must bring a copy of their GCSE results to complete the sign-up process for the 2026/27 academic year.

The full-time programme allows students to combine further education with elite football development.

Scholars can study for a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport, equivalent to three A-levels, while training daily within a professional football environment under the guidance of UEFA-qualified coaches.

The programme provides a structured pathway supporting each student’s academic, footballing and personal development.

Since its launch in 2019, the Elite Scholarship Programme has developed a strong reputation for preparing young people for opportunities within football and beyond. Graduates have progressed to university, secured scholarships in the United States and moved into playing and professional roles across the game.
