Robbie's International Recognition

Wed, 09/01/2019 - 21:55

Robbie McDaid was recently presented with the international caps he won for Northern Ireland at Under 19 and Under 21 level. Robbie - one of the positives in this disappointing season so far - has represented Northern Ireland at Under17, Under 18 Schoolboys, Under 19 and Under 21 and has played around 40 matches for his country at those various levels. We will all be hoping he continues to progress at his current rate as at only 22 there is every chance for senior recognition at some point.

Robbie is carrying on a family tradition for both club and country as his Dad, John, was picked for Northern Ireland at Schoolboy and Youth level (with Norman Whiteside as captain) while playing for Glentoran in the early 1980s.

Robbie will be available for Saturday's visit to the Brandywell to play Institute. Hopefully he can give a repeat of his performance there last month when his two goals and one assist capped what many people say was his finest performance yet in a Glens shirt.
