Raven GSC donates fleece blankets to club's disabled section

Glentoran Football Club is delighted to acknowledge the generosity of the Raven Glentoran Supporters Club (GSC) who have donated six high-quality fleece blankets to the club’s disabled section at the Bet McLean Oval.

The initiative stemmed from a conversation between Raven GSC Chairman, Colin Davidson, and Philip Stevenson, 1923 Committee GSC, that highlighted the often-harsh weather conditions at the stadium and the need to ensure greater comfort for the club’s disabled supporters.

With the 1923 Committee recently funding a new state-of-the-art Hudl Focus Flex Camera for the club, the Raven GSC saw an opportunity to contribute in another meaningful way and its members voted unanimously to approve the proposal.

Glentoran legend and Raven GSC President, Paul Leeman, added a special touch with the embroidery of the club crest onto each blanket through Zace Print & Embroidery.

Raven GSC Chairman, Colin Davidson, said: “We are thrilled to have been able to provide these fleece blankets to our supporters in the disabled section. The idea came about through discussions with Philip Stevenson, and it was clear there was a real need given how cold it can be at the BetMcLean Oval.

“Our members were unanimous in their support for this initiative and we are particularly grateful to our President, Paul Leeman, and Zace for adding the Glentoran badge. It was a privilege for David McMullan to hand over the blankets to the club ahead of the game against Dungannon Swifts.”

Colin Jess, Chairman of Glentoran said: "This is a wonderful gesture from the Raven GSC, exemplifying the incredible community spirit that exists within the Glentoran family. This donation is one of many generous acts by our supporters and supporters' clubs, whose dedication and contributions are valued and never go unnoticed at the board level. On behalf of Glentoran FC, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Colin Davidson, the Raven GSC and everyone involved for their generosity and thoughtfulness.”
