Our first movement of the current close season can be announced.

Darren Murray has agreed new contract terms and will be staying with Glentoran. Further details will be announced later.

Johnny Frazer and Cameron Stewart have signed pre contract forms and will be registered as Glentoran players when the transfer window opens on 9th June.

Mick McDermott: “I’m delighted that Darren has agreed terms. There has been a lot of interest in him from other clubs, but he’s been clear from very early on that he had no interest at all in going anywhere else.

Jonny and Cameron are both young players who will play a positive part in our climb. Jonny has a pace and directness that we need so he’ll give us an option we’ve lacked, and he’s proved he will be an attacking threat against any team. Cameron is just 22 but is a very strong prospect and his versatility will also be an asset to us next season.”

Frazer (23) was with Ards last season. Prior to that he was a Linfield player with loan spells in the Danske Bank Premiership with Warrenpoint Town and Ballymena United.

Stewart (22) joins from Linfield but he spent the second half of last season on loan at Glenavon where he worked with our First Team Coach Paul Millar. He was previously with Coleraine and Crusaders as a youth player.

Going in the other direction, Peter McMahon and Lukasz Gwiazda have left the club on the expiry of their contracts. Lukasz has rejoined his former club, Harland & Wolff Welders. Mick McDermott: “I would like to thank both Peter and Lukasz for their professionalism and efforts since I came in and to wish them all the very best for the future.”

Further player announcements during the close season will be announced first on www.glentoran.com and on our official social channels.
