New Signing News.

Glentoran FC is delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Kelly. Daniel has signed on a pre contract from Carrick Rangers.

Manager Gary Haveron said today: “I have worked with Dan previously when we were both at Carrick. He’s a player with a hunger to constantly progress in his career and is always looking to improve his game. His attitude is fantastic and he is extremely professional about how he trains and takes care of himself away from the club. That’s one of the things we need to improve at Glentoran.

Dan is 6'3 and an athlete who has played most of his career at centre half and centre midfield. This season he also played a number of games as a striker grabbing 7 goals. Considering it wasn’t his established position and that he missed a chunk of the season with a broken cheekbone that's a very good return!

Daniel (24) was an early signing target when I took the Glens job and he was very keen to sign for us. Out of respect to Carrick the club decided not to announce the signing until they finished their play off to complete the season.

I'm very much looking to improve the mentality in the dressing room and create an environment where just doing enough isn’t enough!  We must all strive to do more and keep working and improving and I know that's what I'll get with Daniel.”

In other squad news the manager last week made a contract offer to Jay Magee based upon performances this season but this was not accepted. No further contract talks are planned with Jay.

David Scullion’s contract expires at the end of May and he has not been offered a new contract so he is free to sign for another club. David has asked the manager for the opportunity to enter pre season training with the club as he feels indebted to Glentoran after missing all of the season with an injury.  This has been agreed with no commitment from either side. Scully has expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the consideration shown by the club during his layoff.
