New full time deals for Moko and Elliott

Thu, 24/09/2020 - 01:03

More great news for Glentoran supporters, as both skipper Marcus Kane and former skipper Elliott Morris have signed new, full time contracts to remain with the club.

Marcus, now firmly established as captain and leader both in the changing room and the pitch, will have completed eleven years at the club by the end of this contract, having been signed  for Glentoran from Linfield by Eddie Patterson in July 2012. Already a Glentoran Great, his legendary status is rapidly approaching as he leads the team into what promises to be a great era in East Belfast.

Elliott, already the longest serving first team player in the club’s history, has signed a contract that will take him up to at least the 20th anniversary of him arriving at the Oval from West Bromwich Albion to join Roy Coyle’s Glens in July 2002. Elliott’s role will primarily as Goalkeeper Coach to the first team, but as his heroics in the recent Sadler’s Peaky Blinders Irish Cup semi final win over Cliftonville proved, he still has plenty to offer between the sticks when called upon

David Kerr of GlensTV caught up with both men and with Mick McDermott after Tuesday night’s 6-1 home win over East Belfast.
