Murray, O'Neill and Crowe on target in U20s friendly win

Glentoran U20s 4-2 Rosario

Glentoran 20s played a friendly today against Rosario at the Oval and came out 4-2 winners in an entertaining encounter.

The Glens were without Mal Smith, Jamie Glover, Lewis McGarvey, Ben Cushnie and Sean Gallagher who were all trialling with Northern Ireland's under 18 schoolboy International side but we're bolstered with the appearance of new signing Darren Murray and the returning Joe Crowe.

Rosario took an early lead when a corner kick was turned into the Glentoran net by one of their own defenders however Darren Murray followed up a Paul O'Neill shot to tap in the rebound and open his Glentoran account for 1-1.

The second half saw a flurry of goals with Joe Crowe finishing well from a superb McCarthy cross before he rattled the underside of the bar from 30 yards.

O'Neill scored a cool third from a cross from 15 year old Seamus Duffy before Rosario grabbed a goal back to make it 3-2.

Darren Murray scored his second and Glentoran's 4th just a minute later with a stinging 25 yard shot to seal the win for the Glens.

Thanks to Rosario for a good work out and good luck to them for the remainder of the season
