Glentoran has announcd that highly rated young goalkeeper Milo Beimers has been called up to represent Canada men’s national under-17 team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025 in Qatar this November.
The 17-year-old Academy graduate will join up with the Canadian squad this week ahead of a pre-tournament training camp in Dubai, before competing on the world stage against some of the biggest footballing nations.
Running from 3–27 November, the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025bwill see Canada compete in Group K alongside France, Chile and Uganda, with their campaign kicking off in Al Rayyan on 5 November.
A graduate of the Glentoran Academy, Milo has progressed rapidly through the ranks at The BetMcLean Oval and has spent the past year training regularly with the first-team squad under the guidance of Irish League legend and Glens goalkeeping coach Elliott Morris.
His development has been rewarded this season with a place on the first-team bench for Sports Direct Premiership fixtures against Dungannon Swifts and Ballymena United, as well as the County Antrim Shield tie against Carrick Rangers.
