Glentoran v Warrenpoint Town

Saturday 2nd September, 3pm.

This Saturday we defend the season’s unbeaten record at home to recently promoted Warrenpoint Town.

‘Point have three points from their first four games due to a home win over Ards 2 weeks ago. However they come to the Oval following a comfortable BetMcLean League Cup win over Lurgan Celtic on Tuesday night.

Matthew Tipton has had a few changes this summer. Among those lost from the promotion winning team were Player of the Year John McGuigan who rejoined us at Glentoran. Also among those who have left Milltown are Aaron Traynor (Coleraine) and Liam Bagnall (Cliftonville). Replacing them have been ex-Glens player Martin Murray (Carrick), Darren Murray (Cliftonville), Alan Blayney (Ballymena United), Neil McCafferty (Coleraine), Sean Mackle and Jordan Lyttle (both Portadown) and TJ Murray, Seanna Foster and Danny Wallace (all ex-Linfield),

Our new signing Eoghan McCawl’s clearance has been received from St. Johnstone and he is available for selection. Ross Redman remains a serious injury doubt following the injury sustained against Carrick Rangers two weeks ago while there remains a further doubt over John McGuigan who picked up a neck injury near the end of his matchwinning cameo at Loughgall on Tuesday night.

The Board of Directors at Glentoran Football Club would again request that all supporters travelling to the Oval by private car consider the local residents when deciding where and how to park.
