Glentoran v Dungannon Swifts

Tuesday 17th April, 7.45pm.

On Tuesday evening we welcome Dungannon Swifts for our rearranged Danske Bank Premiership match.

Swifts are currently one place and nine points behind us following their 2-2 draw with Ballinamallard at the weekend.

In our previous three meetings this season we have won twice – a 2-0 home win in the first week of the season through goals from Curtis Allen and John McGuigan, followed by a similar result at Stangmore Park in October through goals from Curtis and Calum Birney. Our most recent meeting was an insipid scoreless draw at the New Year fixture in County Tyrone.

Ronnie McFall said on Monday evening: “Saturday’s performance and result at Warrenpoint were both totally unacceptable. The first half was an embarrassment all over the pitch. In the second hand we improved and pressed them higher but we were caught cold late on after missing a few fairly straightforward chances we should have put away easily. Most of these players are playing for their future at the club but you wouldn’t have thought it watching that performance on Saturday. We need to show a big improvement tomorrow night.

Willie Garrett is out with a hamstring injury from the weekend but Calum Birney is available again so he’s likely to come straight back in. Stevie Gordon has picked up a bug while Peter McMahon is working so Corey McMullan and Eoghan McCawl are likely to join the squad.”

The Board of Directors at Glentoran Football Club would again request that all supporters travelling to the Oval by private car consider the local residents when deciding where and how to park.
