It's Matchday 10 in the 2013-14 Danske Bank Premiership and Glentoran go into this home fixture against Dungannon Swifts 5 points behind their opponents.

The Swifts have had a good start to their campaign with 4 wins (against Warrenpoint Town, Ballinamallard Utd, Coleraine & Ards), 3 draws (v Glenavon, Crusaders and Cliftonville) and just 2 defeats (away to Ballymena Utd & Portadown). They are currently 5th in the table with the Glens back in 8th position.

Last season the teams met 3 times with Glentoran winning the first two and the Swifts the other. At Stangmore Park in September a penalty from Jay Magee and two goals from Andrew Waterworth saw the Glens record a 3-1 victory. It took an injury time goal from Waterworth to snatch the 3 points at the Oval in November; Richard Clarke having levelled the game after the Swifts went in front. In the final meeting, which had been postponed twice previously due to poor weather conditions, Waterworth gave the Glens an early lead before Dungannon hit back with 3 goals. David Howland, who will miss this game through injury, got one back late on but despite their efforts, Glentoran couldn't force an equaliser.
