Glentoran and Ballymena United will both be looking to bounce back after two consecutive set backs in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Ballymena United's opening day fixture saw them go down to a heavy home defeat, losing 6-3 at home to Glenavon. They followed that reverse with two 2-1 victories; away at Crusaders and home to Dungannon Swifts. A poor performance resulted in a disappointing 2-0 loss to newly promoted Ards but things picked up again in their next game with an impressive 2-1 home victory over Portadown. Defeats in the last couple of weeks to Cliftonville and Linfield leaves the Sky Blues on 9 points from their 7 games; the same as Glentoran.

Last season the sides met three times in the league. The two games at Ballymena finished level, 1-1 and 0-0 whilst United won the game at the Oval in January 2-1 with a last minute goal.

Glentoran will still be without the injured Calum Birney but Mark Miskimmin, who came off the bench to score a great goal at Cliftonville, completed another 90 minutes in midweek for the Seconds and should be in contention for a starting place.

The Glentoran Academy will be in attendance at this weekend's fixture and we hope they all have an enjoyable day.
