Glentoran begin 2014 with a trip to Stangmore Park to face Dungannon Swifts. The clubs have met twice this season with the Glens coming out on top on both occasions.

On 5th October at the Oval, goals from Marcus Kane and Mark Miskimmin gave the Glens a 2-1 victory and it was the same scoreline when the sides met at Stangmore Park on 9th November. On that occasion Marcus Kane gave the Glens the lead only for Darren Boyce to equalise from the penalty spot minutes later. With Glentoran down to 10 men early in the second half, Jason Hill popped up with a late winner.

Following his sending off on Boxing Day, Mark Clarke misses this game.

Finally, congratulations from everyone at Glentoran to former Swifts manager, Joe McAree who received an MBE in the New Year's Honours List.
