Glentoran Women maintained the pressure at the top of the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership with a 1-0 victory over Derry City Women at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium on Friday night.
The result leaves Kim Turner’s side just two points behind the league leaders heading into Monday night’s meeting with Cliftonville at the BetMcLean Oval.
After a closely contested and goalless opening 45 minutes, the decisive moment arrived five minutes into the second half when Faye Loughran found the net to give the Glens the lead.
That proved to be the only goal of the game as Glentoran held on to secure all three points and record another clean sheet on the road.
