Lisburn Rangers Ladies 1-6 Glentoran Women

Mon, 22/07/2024 - 22:31

It took a well struck 32nd minute opener from Lisburn’s Sophie Megaw to galvanise the Glens into action tonight, but when it did there was no question about who would go on to win their place in this season’s County Antrim Cup Final.

The hosts’ lead lasted just 2 minutes before Demi Vance cut in from the left to hammer in an unstoppable long range shot that gave former Glens keeper Emma Higgins no chance in the Lisburn goal. Two minutes later Demi again cut in from the left to unleash a delightful right footed effort to put the Glens ahead for the first time.

Eight minutes into the second half Demi had her hat trick and her 11th of the season from midfield. This time it was a penalty after Sofie Keenan had her left wing run ended by a foul just inside the Lisburn box.

Rachel Rogan was next on the scoresheet with a neat finish from an Emily Wilson pass for her own 11th of the season. Next came Nadene for here second of the week with a carbon copy finish to the Rogan goal, this time the right-wing pass coming from Jenna McKearney.

Emily Wilson completed the scoring with a penalty after her own mazy run through the Lisburn defence was ended by a foul.

The final will be v Cliftonville and details of the date and venue will be published here when announced by the County Antrim FA.
