Lisburn Ladies v Glentoran Women
Friday 18 August
Bluebell Stadium Lisburn
Kick Off 8.00pm
On Friday evening Glentoran Women travel to the Bluebell Stadium, Lisburn to face Lisburn Ladies in the Quarter Final of the Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup, as the Glens seek to win Northern Ireland’s premier knock out tournament for the fifth consecutive season.
The two teams have met twice already this season. In May, in the Toals County Antrim Cup, a hat trick from Joely Andrews, two from Caragh Hamilton and one each from Emma McMaster and Sam Kelly comfortably saw the team through.
The following month at Ashfield in the Sports Direct Premiership, a four goal first half burst from Rachel Rogan led the way to an 8-1 home win. The goals that night came from Rogan (4), Hamilton (2), Emily Wilson and a Kerry Beattie penalty.
Glens First Team Coach Kim Turner: "The Irish Cup is always a competition we look forward to. The players are ready and prepared physically and mentally and have been putting in a lot of work on and off the pitch.
As a group we know how important every game is and we will continue to take one game at a time, stay consistent in everything we do and keep building on our performances as a team”.
