John McGuigan has celebrated his first month back at Glentoran by winning the first Glentoran Player Of The Month.
John won 28% of the supporters' vote in a keenly contested ballot after a month when he scored twice and was involved in most of our other goals.
On being told of his win, John said: " I'm delighted to have won the first player of the month, especially because it's chosen by the supporters. It's good too see my hard work on the pitch being recognised but while I'm grateful and proud to take the individual vote from the fans, after all it's a team game so I couldn't have done it without the help of all the boys".
Manager Gary Haveron, who worked hard to bring John back to the Oval in the face of a lot of competition, said: "John has come back to the club and hit the ground running (literally) as I was sure he would. His work rate is incredible and brings so much to the team. He's also added goals to his game as we've seen in recent weeks and that will do his confidence the world of good. He's a very important element in what we try to do and I'm delighted he's got this recognition from our supporters for all his hard work. I'm also delighted that a number of players from various positions got plenty of votes."
Runner-up this month was Dylan Davidson with Elliott Morris, Conall Delaney, Curtis Allen and new skipper Marcus Kane all polling well.
