Glentoran set up a Clearer Water Irish Cup quarter-final meeting with Larne thanks to a convincing 5-0 win over Drumaness Mills at the BetMcLean Oval.
Jordan Jenkins grabbed the plaudits with four goals on the night with talented teen Cal Weatherup adding a late fifth from the penalty spot.
Jenkins completed a first half hat-trick before grabbing his fourth with 11 minutes to go as visiting goalkeeper Aaron Carberry denied the hosts with a number of excellent saves.
Weatherup came off the bench and won the penalty in the 88th minute which he confidently dispatched to wrap up an excellent team display.
Declan Devine made six changes to the side which defeated Ballymena United on Saturday with only Cammy Palmer, Josh Daniels, MJ Kamson-Kamara, Danny Amos and Jenkins retaining their place in the starting elven.
The Glens dominated possession in the opening stages, but it took them 10 minutes to muster a goal scoring opportunity as Palmer flashed an effort narrowly wide of the target.
The hosts did have the ball in the 13th minute, but it was quickly chalked off by referee Declan Hassan who deemed Jenkins had kicked the ball out of Carberry’s hands.
Jenkins didn’t have long to wait to grab his goal though as he broke the deadlock on 24 minutes with a composed right foot finish in the box after he latched onto a good through ball.
Jenkins doubled his and Glentoran’s tally on 37 minutes firing home after good work from Ben Gallagher to pick him out.
And the hat-trick was complete a minute before the break as Jenkins bundled the ball home after Dylan Connolly had flicked on Danny Amos’ corner.
Glentoran picked up in the second half where they left off in the first with James Singleton denied by Carberry as the ‘keeper tipped his shot onto the post.
Carberry then blocked a James Douglas effort with his feet as the hosts went in search of a fourth goal.
As we moved towards the hour mark Gallagher was inches away from a first goal in Glentoran colours as he struck the woodwork with Jenkins inches away from turning the loose ball home.
Carberry pulled off another excellent save to deny Kamson-Kamara from a Liam Burt cross as the home side continued to knock on the door.
The Drumaness Mills stopper was having a great game but was left helpless as Jenkins grabbed a fourth of the night, cutting in from the left before curling a superb effort into the top corner with 11 minutes to go.
There was still time for one more goal and it came from the spot as teenager Weatherup coolly slotted home after he had been upended in the box by Kyle McCleery with two minutes to go.
