Congratulations to our full back Johnny Russell on his call up to the Northern Ireland Under 21 squad.
Johnny, who doesn’t turn 20 until next month, Has been with Glentoran right through all Academy stages and he fully deserves this selection after making the breakthrough into the first team last November and immediately making the left back position his own with 34 starts in all competitions last term.
Also in the squad for the U21 Euro 2025 qualifiers against England’s U21s and Ukraine’s U21s are former Glens first teamer Terry Devlin (now with Portsmouth) and Academy graduate Barry Baggley (currently on loan to Waterford from Fleetwood Town),
The games are at Ballymena Showgrounds on Friday 6 September and Tuesday 10 September and both have 7.45pm kick-offs.
