Hrvoje is August Player of the Month

Sun, 01/09/2019 - 19:07

Hrvoje Plum has celebrated his first month at Glentoran by winning the Glentoran Player of The Month for August.

Hrvoje won 26% of the supporters' vote in a keenly contested ballot after a month when he scored with a great strike against Coleraine and had a number of excellent efforts in our other games, particularly at Ballymena Showgrounds.

Mick McDermott said of the vote: “Hrvoje has given us a taste of what can do during this first month. Glentoran fans have always had a good eye for quality players and by their votes they reinforce this!

To get POTM ahead of several other players having great performances in August clearly shows that he is on the right path for Glentoran.  He is a committed player who trains hard every day to contribute to our team - he deserves this award

He is enjoying his time here, is adapting to our team and league and I know there is a lot more to come from him”.

Runner-up this month was Patrick McClean, also in his first month, with Gavin Peers, Robbie McDaid and Paul O’Neill all polling well.

Jake wins U20s August Award

Jake White has won the August award for the Glentoran U20 team, a great achievement in his first month at this level.

U20s Manager David Lowry said of Jake's award: "Jake has been with us a couple seasons now and played centre mid for the U18s last season. But we moved him to centre back in the summer and he has been a revelation there.

He played very well against Andy Mitchell on his U20 debut against Glenavon, which was a baptism of fire for him. Has been solid every game and got a couple of assists too. He's had a great start to the season and totally deserves this award."
