Glentoran made it an impressive North Belfast double as they followed up their midweek 4-0 win over Cliftonville with a 5-1 victory over Crusaders.

Pat Hoban was the star man once again as he followed up his brace at Solitude with a 15-minute hat-trick in the second half.

MJ Kamson-Kamara’s close-range header got the hosts off to the perfect start after only nine minutes at the BetMcLean Oval.

The Glens continued to have the upper hand over the Crues, who lost Jordan Forsythe to a straight red card before the half-time whistle.

The home side made their one-man advantage count five minutes into the second half as Hoban netted his first, with further goals following on 52 and 65 minutes.

Liam Burt added the fifth before Adam Brookes’ late consolation for the visitors.

Declan Devine made just one change to the side that swept Cliftonville aside in midweek, with Jordan Stewart rewarded for his two-goal cameo off the bench at Solitude as he came in for Danny Amos.

It took the hosts only nine minutes to get their noses in front as Kamson-Kamara nodded in from Marcus Kane’s flick-on.

Musa Dibaga produced a superb save to deny Hoban from doubling the Glens’ lead before the 20-minute mark.

The Crues suffered a significant blow on the stroke of half-time as Jordan Forsythe was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Kane.

Glentoran doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half as Hoban finished from close range.

Two minutes later, the prolific striker was in the right place at the right time to convert after Dibaga could only parry Cammy Palmer’s initial effort.

Hoban completed his treble on 65 minutes with another composed finish to cap an impressive individual display.

The Glens continued to press and were rewarded when Burt’s cross deceived everyone, including Crusaders’ keeper Dibaga, before nestling in the net.

As the game moved towards the 90-minute mark, the Crues pulled back a late consolation thanks to Brookes’ chipped effort.
