Hello, Antonio!

Tue, 03/09/2019 - 10:21

Croatian striker Antonio Duric announced his arrival in East Belfast last night with a debut goal in our 4-0 win over Institute at the Oval. The 21-year old made his entry as substitute for Elvio Van Overbeek in the 75th minute and soon after rose above the defence to clinically head home from a Mal Smith corner.

Mick McDermott said of Antonio last night: “Antonio came over a couple of weeks ago to train with us as a trial. He’s trained very well and very enthusiastically and has fitted in very well with the rest of the squad. We signed him at the end of last week and he immediately scored a very good hat trick for the Under 20s at the weekend so with Darren and Curtis both injured last night he got his chance earlier than anyone had anticipated. He certainly took it well.

Antonio has a very good pedigree. He came through the academy at Dinamo Zagreb and as he’s already demonstrated he’s a very good finisher and will give us another great option up front.”

Welcome to Glentoran Antonio!
